Our School

Hemblington is a small village 7 miles to the East of Norwich. It is close to the city, coast and the Broads.

The village provides many of the 165 children on the school roll, and we also attract children from the surrounding villages and outskirts of Norwich.

The original Victorian school has been extended and altered several times, most recently in 2016, when a new children's kitchen was installed.

There are seven class bases to accommodate children from Year R to Year 6 in single age classes. Hemblington School is an Academy of The Yare Education Trust. The school has a library, several small teaching rooms and an ICT suite which was updated in June 2015.

The school has received very positive reports from the Ofsted inspections on every occasion it has been inspected, the last being in January 2017. The teaching staff is well established and very experienced – we are a family orientated school and all children are known as individuals.

The parents of the school are very supportive and give generously of their time helping in school on a regular basis as well as raising funds for the benefit of the pupils through an active ’Friends’ association.

Should you be looking for a school place for your child, please contact the office on 01603 713243 to discuss the availability of places with the headteacher or if you have any other queries or concerns.

Visits to the school are always welcome; please ring the office to make an appointment.
