Governors

Hemblington Primary School Governing Body is federated with Dussindale Primary School and is committed to the school providing the very best education for our children.

The Governors contribute to the leadership of a school and are involved in strategic planning and formulation of policies. Governing bodies also act as ‘critical friends’ to both support and challenge the school. At Hemblington (and Dussindale) we all work as a team for the benefit of the school.

The role of the Governing Body is to:

  • set the strategic direction, policies and objectives
  • review progress against the budget and objectives
  • challenge and support senior staff
  • play a part in appointing staff

The federated governing body meet six times a year, one a half term. The recording of meetings are available for your inspection so please ask at the office if you would like to read them.

Questions and issues regarding the school should be referred to the school office or Mrs Norgate, the Executive Head Teacher in the first instance. Our complaints procedure is available from the school office. If you have a complaint regarding the Executive Head Teacher, please refer it to the Chair of Governors, via the school office.

Terms of office are 4 years so we are always on the look out for new Governors. If you are interested in becoming a Governor please contact the Chair of Governors via the school office.

The school is part of Broad Horizons Education Trust and the main registered office is Sewell Park Academy, St. Clements Hill, Norwich, NR3 4BX

Details of the Trust’s Funding Agreements, Articles of Association, Scheme of Delegation, Financial Information and other detailed governance arrangements can be found on the Trust’s website. The Gender Pay Gap Report is on The Broad Horizons Education Trust website:
