This week, the children enjoyed creating their Robin Cauliflower Christmas card. They are lovely and colourful and if you decide to order some, I’m sure you will enjoy sending them out to friends and family this Christmas. Here is a photo of four of the cards.
It has been lovely to see some of the things that the children have brought in for show-and-tell sessions. This week Amelie brought in a bag that she had made at home, George had photos of the trophy he had been awarded and Laurence brought in a new book, which he and Imogen read to the class. Here are some photos.
In English lessons, the children were looking at non-fiction books and learning about using alphabetical order. We discussed when alphabetical order is used, such as in a dictionary, thesaurus, class list, index and glossary. They enjoyed creating a Fairground Glossary and were very good at suggesting different rides that could be included. Here is a photo of George and Laurence gluing their glossary cards into their English book in alphabetical order.
The Drama lesson this week was called The Grand Parade and after listening to descriptions of various shops, the children used their imagination to create a shop in groups of three, or four. Their shops sold clothes, toys, cakes and sweets and they enjoyed selling me a range of goods, including a posh dress, hat and a box of chocolates! Here are a few photos of them planning their shops.
Finally, it was great to see so many children dress up on Friday as a fruit, or a vegetable. Well done for being so creative at home – certainly not easy outfits to produce! Many thanks for all the donations of food that the children brought to school. Here are some photos taken in the school hall.
The Robin Google Classroom has been set up, alongside the other classes. If you haven’t signed in yet, please can you assist your child to accept the invitation to join the class.
The parent meetings have all been booked and you should have received your invitation. Please be ready at your allotted time and I will then let you into the meeting. Please be aware that the meetings will not be able to run over the given time. I look forward to speaking to you online.
