Well here we are again – a national lockdown and most children are learning at home! Thank you to all of you for sending me lots of photos of the Robins’ learning at home and of their work. Well done to all the children to adapting once again to working through the tasks I’ve set, with the support of their families.
Here are a selection of the photos I’ve received for the first week of home learning, beginning with their Christmas news.
The following set of photos show the Robins engaged with their learning at home, or getting ready to learn, as with the photo of Imogen and her sister.
Towards the end of last week, the Robins wrote some brilliant poems! After watching a BBC Bitesize lesson on Wednesday, they wrote some counting poems, in the style of One, Two, buckle my shoe. . . Then on Thursday and Friday, we returned to the Moon poem work, which we had begun just before Christmas. After reading a selection of poems, which featured the Moon, the children wrote some repeating pattern poems and then some longer ones set out in verses. Here is a selection of some of the photos they wrote.
Finally, here are a few photos of Theo’s drawings of the Epiphany and his settlement for the Geography lesson and George enjoying a walk outside with his family.
I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at this first gallery of photos and I am aiming to upload further selections at the end of each week of our present lockdown.
Please send me messages via the class e-mail if you need further support with home learning. I realise there may be days when I upload too many tasks, in my effort to make sure you have enough to keep your children busy at home! Please don’t feel pressurised to complete everything! It is equally important that you enjoy doing fun things with your children and learning in a different way, for instance going out for walks, looking at nature, bird watching, cooking, or doing craft activities. As mentioned by Miss Collier in her recent newsletter, if you need new reading books, send me an e-mail request and I will leave them outside the office in an envelope, or bag, for you to collect. Then leave the books that you have finished with in the Year 2/Year 3 quarantine box.
