This week is Olympic Week. We learned about the origins of the Olympic games and how they are normally every four years, but this year is different because of Covid. We looked at Japan on the map. We learned to say “Kon’nichiwa,” “hello” in Japanese. We learned a new song about travelling around the world and saying “hello” in different languages. We looked at the Olympic logo and made Olympic rings with a variety of media. We had fun adding a little splash of colour to our uniforms for the “Colour Run” on the track.
Our caterpillars are starting to change into their cocoon form. We observed one of them wriggling and spinning as it began to change into a cocoon. We enjoyed moving in different way as bees and ladybirds in dance. We had fun practising our races for Sports Day. In maths we have been doing problem solving. We enjoyed listening to “Mr Gumpy’s Outing” and working out the combinations of animals there would need to be in the boat to make up different totals of legs. We continued our problem solving when making bridges, comparing lengths and testing which is the strongest.
