This week we started learning about light and dark. We read one of our favourite books The Tiger Who Came to Tea. We looked carefully at the illustration of night time when the family walk to the cafe. We drew our own night time pictures using chalks on black paper. We enjoyed learning the number song 5 Elephants Went Out To Play. We found lots of spider webs outside when we went for a walk to observe the misty morning. We enjoyed looking at the sun shining through droplets of water on the webs and bare branches. We read the Spinderella and joined in with counting. We had an unexpected visitor to school when a young hedgehog was spotted in the school grounds. We learned about how to look after hedgehogs and about “nocturnal” animals.
