The children have had another good week settling into school. This week they had their first lunch at school. They all coped brilliantly well with the lunch time routine and carrying their meals on trays. We are getting to know each other and the children have enjoyed sharing their Summer scrapbooks. We started to think about the things we have in common and the things that are different about us in our SCARF lesson. Some of the children have commented on the sunflowers in the outside area and talked about the sunflowers growing in their own gardens. We learned that sunflowers move their heads to face the sun so that they warm up to attract the bees. We did some observational drawings and have begun to record our observations through painting. We have been learning about rhyming words and about alliteration.
