Dear Cygnets
Today is a special day because it is the first day in the month of July. Yesterday was June and today we are in a new month called July. Next month will be August. June July and August are the Summer months. Listen carefully to the words of this song to help you learn the order of the months of the year. Join in singing when you are ready.
Your Phonics challenge today is to read the story, circle the words with the short vowel “ow” phoneme and record them in a list. How many can you find?
Today’s story is another one about Oliver. In this story Oliver is being very fussy about the food his Mum gives him. He tells her that he does not like eating fruit. Listen carefully to the story. Grandad has an idea. Tell someone what Grandad’s idea was and draw a picture of what they did together to change Oliver’s mind. Write a sentence to go with your picture.
Your next challenge is to make a fruit salad with the fruit you have in your house. You might like to include some tinned fruit. Follow these picture instructions. Only use knives under adult supervision to keep you safe.
Remember to update your fruit and vegetable diary for today.
Today’s White Rose Maths activities are from Week 10, Day 3. Today you will be making up number stories using first, then and now. You will be thinking about sorting sets.

Your last challenge is to join in with singing the words to this fun song. It reminds us to eat fruit each day and will help you to remember the order of the days of the week.
