Cygnet Home Learning

17.7.20

Dear Cygnets,

It was really lovely to see so many of you today. Thank you all for the amazing presents. I think I will be well organised for next term with the useful kit you gave me. Thank you very much for the generous token. I really love spending time in my garden. I am thinking about replacing a hawthorn tree so I think I will use it for that. Thank you also for the handprint picture. I think that there must have been lots of secret plans and clever tricks going on to organise that. Mrs Connley, Mrs Davies and Mrs Pattison all admired it and we have chosen a special place to display it so that everyone will see it.

Let’s start our learning today with a trip to the seaside. Join in moving to the music to build sandcastles and dodge the waves. Join in with singing a Cygnet favourite song and listen to a story about a trip to the beach.

Now draw a picture about a trip you have made to the beach. Write a list of all the things you love to do at the beach.

Today’s word challenge:

Listen to today’s story.

Today’s White Rose Maths activities are from Week 12, Day 5. Today you will be investigating how many creatures there could be from the total number of legs.

Here is an extra challenge in counting in 10s:

To finish your learning you might like to make a sea scene. You might like to try some of these ideas for making fish and jellyfish and you might like to display them in a box to make a 3D under the sea scene.
