Dear Cygnets
Let’s start today’s learning with a song. Join in with the words to the Grand old Duke of York:

Your next challenge is to read this dragon poem with a helper. What do you think the dragon looks like? Print off the words or write them on a piece of paper and decorate the edges with dragon pictures. Now have a go at singing the words to the tune of the Grand Old Duke of York.
Your Phonics challenge today is to read the story, circle the words with the short vowel “oo” phoneme and record them in a list. How many can you find?

I hope that you have enjoyed listening to the dragon stories this week. This next story is one of my favourites. It is called Tell Me A Dragon by Jackie Morris. I love the descriptions about the different dragons and what they can do. I really love the beautiful illustrations which are painted with water colour paints. Look at these beautiful dragon eggs which one do you think your dragon will hatch from? If you would like to make a dragon egg this video show you how to make an egg with paper mâché. It is a project which you might like to work on over a few days.
Listen to Jackie Morris reading her story.
Today’s White Rose Maths activities are from Week 9, Day 5. Today you will be measuring time and there is a great gingerbread activity you can try so that you can practise measuring weight and capacity.

Practise comparing weights with this next activity. You can do this challenge on the screen or print the worksheet.
Your last challenge is to make a fun fire breathing dragon
