This week we have been using our listening skills and looking carefully at the illustrations in a new story book. We have been thinking about what we see and how this relates to our own lives. We had lots of interesting conversations about who the characters might be and what we could learn about them by looking. We learned that the girl is called Astrid, she has a Mum and Dad and that she loves space. We used our learning about 3D shapes to make rockets and telescopes. We read a story that had a night time picture with a shimmering moon and that inspired our splatter paintings to illustrate a starry sky. We had great fun making splatter paintings and one child said, “Look at my shimmering stars!” We used the paintings as a back drop to our space station which we will continue to develop. On Friday we dressed up as superheroes to raise money for Comic Relief. In the afternoon we had great fun playing a wellbeing game on the field with Mr Newsome in the sun.
