Environmental Garden Visit

Last week, Swallow class visited the Environmental Garden to carry out a habitat study. We investigated both the grass and pond habitats. The children were excellent wildlife detectives and spotted worms, spiders, ladybirds, bees and centipedes. We had a very successful pond dip, catching water snails, hoglouse, larvae, water boatman and even newts! Following the visit, the children were able to talk about the 7 life processes and the types of habitat. We will visit the garden regularly throughout the year.
