This week we have enjoyed watching our caterpillars changing.  They are getting bigger and have spun some webs.  We learned the song “There’s a Tiny Caterpillar on a Leaf.”  This led to lots of puppet making of the caterpillar life-cycle.  We listened to the story “Tidy” and discussed the woodland habitat and why it is good for the different animals that live there.  In our SCARF session we learned that humans grow and change as they live.  We thought about the things which humans need to grow; food, water, shelter, care and love.

We have been learning about odd and even numbers.  We enjoyed painting odd monsters with odd features eg odd numbers of eyes, ears, teeth.  We wrote sentences to describe why our monsters are odd.  We enjoyed listening to “Eat Your People!” We investigated odd and even by pairing socks which is something which the children can do at home.
