Swan News 28.11.20

This week felt a little more normal in Swan Class.

After a seating plan change, the children seem happier sitting in rows and we are able to take small groups out for guided work.

The children are reading regularly at school but it is very important that they read at home every day.

In English we have started learning the phase 5 phonics, log on to https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/ and https://www.ictgames.com/ and look at phase 5 activities.

The children are working hard on reading the tricky high frequency words and as well as reading bingo, we have enjoyed singing the tricky word songs, you may have heard them singing at home, so here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvMyssfAUx0

In Maths we have been working on addition and subtraction. The White Rose Maths scheme works with lots of different ways of representing number to ensure the children have a deep understanding of a concept.

Next week we are looking at shape, 3D and 2D. Show and Tell around this topic would be good, shape pictures, 3D shape models etc.

In Science we are completing our topic on animals by looking at carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.
