Dear Cygnets

Today’s story is The Dinosaur That Pooped the Past by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter. In the story Danny and his dinosaur friend go on a magic swing which takes them into the past. They meet the Dino Dudes. You will be thinking about them later when you do your maths pattern activities. After you have listened to the story think about where you would like to go if you went on a magic swing. Who would you want to go with? Draw a picture and write about it.

Here is today’s phonics challenge. You can print it out or look at it on the screen and write your answers on paper.

Today’s White Rose Maths activities are from Week 11, Day 2. Today you will be investigating patterns.

Your last challenge for today is to make your own dinosaur land. You might like to do this outside in your garden under plants or bushes. You might like to include a some water to make a swamp. You might like to make your dinosaur land on a tray. If you make your dinosaur land inside you might like to cut out these pictures and stick them to the inside of a box to make the background landscape. There are some ideas in this example which you might like to include in your dinosaur land: a forest, nest, cave, swamp, footprints, dinosaur bones and eggs. Now you can take your dinosaurs on adventures in your dinosaur land.
